Wireless Links

What are they used for?

A wireless link provides a LAN or Internet connection to a remote or hard-to-reach location where a wired installation would be difficult. It also allows expanding a network through wireless access points (WiFi). At FIIXCOM we design wireless link solutions of the following types:

  • Point to Point
  • Point to Multipoint
  • WLAN Network (WiFi)
  • Wireless access points to a LAN (WiFi)

How do I know which one I need?

Well, let's review them one by one along with their use cases. Let's start with:

Point to Point

A “Point to Point” link allows connecting two areas, whether at short or long distances, using specialized antennas that require proper orientation, height, and configuration for optimal performance.

Example: If you own a business and have a branch, you can easily subscribe to internet services at a single location and, through a point-to-point link, extend all network services to your branch, thereby saving on services.

Another case might be connecting two communities that are several kilometers apart and need to be linked. For this, we might need taller towers and more robust equipment.

If you require this type of connection, contact us to design your project.

Point to Multipoint

A “Point to Multipoint” link, as its name suggests, refers to connecting many locations to a single point. This involves using special antennas where one serves as the “Multipoint” that can establish links with many other sites or “points”. Let's see an example:

If you have a company with a headquarters and need to connect 5 branches, the ideal solution for you would be a “Point to Multipoint” network where each branch is a “point” and the headquarters acts as the “Multipoint”. In this way, with special equipment, you can have your branches connected using fewer devices.

Of course, certain limitations must be analyzed, and our engineers are available to discuss the feasibility of your project.

WLAN Network (WiFi)

Who doesn't know the WiFi network? Let whoever doesn't know cast the first stone! Perhaps nobody will, as we depend on WiFi networks so much that everyone is familiar with them, even the youngest.

A WiFi network allows devices to remain connected to provide local connectivity or internet access using a wireless frequency compatible with WiFi standards.

Designing and implementing WiFi networks is not very complicated, but when the demand exceeds the capacity of the equipment provided by your Internet service providers, it becomes necessary to deploy more robust devices and design a WiFi network with greater range. For this, we have design tools and sophisticated equipment to recommend the best solution for your WiFi network.

The security it requires is an area in which we can easily assist you, whether you need it remotely or if we design a different or special security scheme for your WiFi network where we can implement the so-called “Captive Portals”.

Wireless access points to a LAN (WiFi)

We can deploy equipment for access points that provide the coverage you require. Imagine you need the same wireless network or the same “SSID” throughout an entire facility, but you don't want to receive complaints about WiFi availability. In that case, let us help you implement the necessary quantity and robustness to cover what you want to safeguard during your event or continuous work area.

We are experts in this.
